You’ve all been training hard to get fit and into shape, so to over do it durring the festive season would be silly. Here are some tips to help you keep you on the straight and narrow
1. Many of the foods that you eat durring this time are associated with family traditions and often cause over-eating and indulging in some of these tasty traditions – but unless you still 15 with a lightning fast metabolism this is not a good idea.! so keep control of what you put in your mouth!!
2. Stress of staying with family and freinds that have less-than-healthy eating habits will lead to fat gain – So it may be wise for you to do the groceries - Where you can choose healthier foods
3. Snack regularly – Don’t allow yourself to become overly hungry…Chose low GI carbohydrates and quality proteins
4. Watch the alcohol consumption. they are more fattening than you think.
5. Train! most of you get lazy over this period, increase your training – Try something new and outdoors to compliment the holiday vibe! play sport games on the beach or swim in the sea/pool - or if you’re staying home go on some family walks/jogs or if you energetic enough hit the gym.
6. keep your eating habits under control. Decide beforehand which days will be your “cheat” days – A few select days won’t increase your bodyfat – but cheating the entire month will! One month of over-indulgence requires on average 3-4 months of “catch up” training and strict eating.
