Grand Master Wu Bin Visits Shaolin Martial Art Centre
| During March 2005 Mater Wu Bin, who has trained the likes of Jet Li, accompanied by Mr. Felix Yang travelled from China to South Africa in order to visit Si-Gung Leo Sebregts and the Shaolin Martial Art Centre. The purpose of the trip was to build good relations between the Shaolin Martial Art Centre and the Zhonghua Martial Arts School.
Master Wu Bin has many accolades behind his name including being a member of the Chinese Wushu Society, Vice President of the Beijing Wushu Association, Director of Technical Training and Research section of the China Wushu Research Institute, as well as being the retired Head Coach of the Beijing Wushu Team. Master Wu Bin is also the Honorary Principal of the Zhonghua Martial Arts School and the Shaolin Martial Art Centre. It is in his year as Head Coach of the Beijing Wushu Team that he trained Li Lianjie, better known as Jet Li. During his time in South Africa, Master Wu Bin visited many of the Shaolin Martial Art Centre branches as well as seeing many of South Africa's sights including the Lost City.
Master Leo Sebregts and Grand Master Wu Bin Master Wu Bin also shared his wisdom with Si-Fu Bruce and Si-Fu Frank, instructing them on the use of the Wushu straight sword as well as the new Quan Shu form.

A seminar was also presented at Reddam House, where Master Wu Bin demonstrated his skills and shared some of his knowledge with all the students who attended, everyone who attended felt enriched by the knowledge bestowed on them. After the seminar the relationship between the Shaolin Martial Art Centre and the Zhonghua Martial Arts School was formalized and gifts where exchanged between representatives from both parties. |
