Grand Master Wu Bin is president of the South African exchange program and sister school relationship between Shaolin Martial Art Centre and Zhonghua Martial Art School China.
For the past years it was left to believe that South Africa would never experience growth in Chinese martial arts, until finally in mid 2005 Grandmaster Wu Bin arrived in our country to find out the real facts of what is going on in South Africa and why Shaolin Martial Art Centre and Master Leo Sebregts had such negative views as reported by some individuals from South Africa. It was decided by Zhonghua Martial Arts School to investigate, so Grandmaster Wu Bin decided to travel to South Africa and find out for himself. After his few days in South Africa and visiting various Shaolin Martial Art Centre schools, he was pleasantly surprised. He loved the way Chinese martial arts where being thought with dedication, discipline, respect and the true way of Chinese Wushu.
Other groups within the Wushu association however wanted a clear understanding of whether the accusations were true and if that was the case Zhonghua Martial Art School would not be allowed any further signing of agreement with the Shaolin Martial Art Centre. After much discussion Grandmaster Wu Bin and Felix Jang decided for themselves and reported to the China Wushu Association and the heads of Zhonghua Martial Art School that they saw the standard of Chinese martial arts thought at the Shaolin Martial Art Centre Schools was very high.
This he said would open the doors for more knowledge in other styles and Wushu, his feelings and support for the Shaolin Martial Art Centre grew making our bond stronger then ever before, maybe thankfully to those who objected his arrival in South Africa This trip was only the first of many more to come, inclusive top Wushu instructors from Zhonghua Martial Art School who will be visiting the Shaolin Martial Art Centre in the future.
In the past the late Master Brendan Lai from USA and the late Master Fan Chunhe of Shandong Wushu gave Master Leo lots of advanced knowledge and recognized Master Leo for his knowledge and dedication in teaching Chinese kung fu. Woodridge palms and the Shaolin training temple
