Well Being and the Executive
Breathing is the most important link to your health, without the correct breathing one will become ill and short-tempered. Example: when put into a situation of stress or difficulty ones breath could become increased or irregular due to not knowing what to do, this in turn will put stress on the heart, stomach and other organs. Before one knows it your are not well.
Breathing allows us to deal with stress and, if done correctly, extending life. By correct breathing techniques our skin texture feels and looks better, food is digested easier and nature calling, more regular, allowing us to live life.
SEVEN health points:
Chinese WuShu gives the practitioner the tools of learning how to breath. A patient teacher won't notice a student's breath but will show him patience and harmony within himself to accept that slow deep breathing will allow his body to calm down and still do the same amount of physical work.
This does not mean that all breathing techniques would benefit the practitioner, as breathing affects the brain and alter movement, mental alertness and physical wellbeing.
Just being engaged with a breathing exercise without physical involvement could lead to imagination and a false sense of achievement, where hallucinations and floating in space can be the outcome of incorrect breathing. Many a time one hears of swallowing air (your breath), holding or fast breathing. As long as we understand how long you want to breath, five maybe ten years, or have a good long healthy life by breathing slow and deep and breathing regularly, ie: not holding your breath. We are given the key to breathe from birth yet we loose it. As we grow older thinking that things can be altered, they cannot. So then you have to learn again.
QI-GONG is the cultivation of vital internal energy by the regulation of body posture, mental concentration, harmonised breathing and self massage movements of the limbs. QiGong as a natural phenomenon has led to the development of a science with characteristic features of its own, both in theory and practice. It is an ancient form of exercise, a means of improving man's physical and mental well being.
Exercise and breath are one motion in order to stay healthy, as any executive stress and/or tension is released through exercise. Your breath improves the use of oxygen in the blood stream thus improving the blood stream to flow more regularly, nourishing the entire body. Concentration, alertness and general wellbeing are achieved by way of this exercise. It is, however, important to have a qualified and known instructor with experience in the field of Chinese Chi-Kung or Qi Gong.

Life's Seven points to Good Health
- Are you free from Fatigue?
Fatigue is a warning that something is wrong. Healthy people are never tired, they like to work and conquer difficult situations.
- Do you Sleep soundly?
You should sleep profoundly and awake perfectly rested after six hours of sleep. You should fall asleep minutes after going to bed, no matter how tired one is or what the circumstances. Talking during sleep represents restlessness and tension. Violent dreams represent a non-healthy mind and will affect the body physically. You should be a deep, sound, deep-breathing, relaxed person while you sleep, awakening with a feeling of contentment and well being.
- Do you have a good Appetite?
You should enjoy any meal, even the simplest fare, your body needs it. You should not get angry for any reason, if it is not to your satisfaction because stomach enzymes create tension.
- Do you have a good Sex life?
Without good sex you do not have a good and healthy body. If you do not feel sexual need or find it difficult to get sexual satisfaction, this is contrary to nature and therefore you must improve your health.
- Are you Good Humoured?
Losing your patience easily, being cruel or sarcastic, harbouring resentment and being pessimistic in any way is not healthy.
You should feel admiration with yourself and all that surrounds you, work, home, family and fun. You should have the mental and physical strength to help you face the worst problems in an objective and tranquil way. Be gentle in criticising and learn even from you enemies.
- Do you have a Good Memory?
A weak memory means bad health and emotional instability. The better the memory the better the health. Memory gives sense and direction to our lives. Without a defined objective our physical and mental efforts are wasted. Memory should increase with age not decrease.
- How are your Reactions?
If someone throws something in your direction, your reaction must be automatic and without hesitation. Your incapacity to react instinctively to external stimulation is a sure indication you are losing control over your environment. Besides memory and organised thought, they help man to organise his own existence and to live in perfect harmony with everything that surrounds him.
